Growth, Healing, Possibilities
Owning your story is the bravest thing you will ever do - Brene’ Brown
It is my belief that who we are today is a product of our experiences throughout our lives. I am passionate about the resilience of all people and the ability to move from a place of feeling “stuck” to a new outlook of growth, healing and possibilities.
Do you notice that you have negative messages that play in your mind on repeat? Do you have memories of past experiences that hold you back from giving fully to your present relationships? Are you feeling depressed, hopeless, or suffering from high anxiety? Are these things keeping you from being the successful, happy person you want to be? Are you struggling in relationships and repeating old behavior patterns that you want to break?
Do you need a private and confidential space to share your feelings, the kind you haven’t entrusted to anyone else before, even family or close friends?
Choosing to attend therapy is an investment in your life, and I am happy to help.

Trauma Informed
Sometimes when we experience things that are scary or overwhelming the brain can't do its typical job of filing away memories and they get stuck and stored in their raw, unprocessed form with all the sights, sounds, smells and other vivid details of the original event. This can lead to these trauma memories being triggered and replayed over and over again, causing great distress. I utilize a tailored approached to each client’s experience and how they would like to approach healing from trauma. One of my favorite therapy models for treating trauma is EMDR. EMDR (Eye Movement Desenstization and Reprocessing) is an evidence based trauma therapy model that can help the brain reprocess traumatic memories that can feel like vivid photographs and help them fade into fuzzy black and white photographs and “file them away in the past” - where they belong.
EMDR recreates the brain's own methods of processing memories by reproducing a similar experience to REM sleep (rapid eye movement) while attending to a traumatic memory. Trained by the EMDR Institute, the 8-phase model of EMDR is an effective model I use in my therapy practice.
To see if EMDR may be right for you, contact me for a consultation.

Attachment-focused Therapy Philosophy
I approach my therapy with clients from the perspective that we relate to ourselves and our relationships with others the ways that our primary caregivers related to us in the important formative years of our childhoods. Guiding clients in understanding their attachment style and the family dynamics present in their growing up can be a significantly healing experience. I utilize the research of Bowlby, Ainsworth and the Circle of Security (COS) model of parenting by Dr. Kent Hoffman.
